Bumpus and their powerful brand of soul music channels the uplifting energy of Sly & The Family Stone, the funk of James Brown and the reflective cool of Marvin Gaye. Led by the thunderous voice of singer Tina Howell, the band brings together big funky beats, thick horns, and a heavy organ sound that results in a high-octane live performance. Bumpus has shared the stage with many of their heroes, such as Dr. John, War, The Roots, Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley. Bumpus will release their sixth record, “Way Down Deep” in the spring of 2018 and will be touring the midwest and beyond throughout the year.
